Quick Answer

Social Trader Tools fits operations that live entirely on MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5, traders who want a proven product they can start using today, and signal businesses needing signal pages and whitelabeling. Trada fits traders whose funded accounts spread beyond MetaTrader into cTrader, TradeLocker, DXTrade, MatchTrader or the futures platforms, and anyone who wants the journal and the copier to be one system rather than two subscriptions.

Execution Model

Both are cloud products with no VPS in the stack. Social Trader Tools hosts unlimited MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 accounts from any broker, claims roughly 50 ms average trade replication, and publishes a 99.98 percent cloud uptime figure [1]. It is a mature product with a large claimed user base.

Trada runs each platform in isolated instances through one container orchestration. MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 run under Wine in Docker on Linux because they have no public API, and every other platform connects natively. Isolation means a rate-limit on MetaTrader does not touch cTrader or Rithmic. Copying runs in real time from one master to N receivers over WebSocket, one market type per copier, with working-hours scheduling per copier and optional auto-close at the end of a trading window. The copy-trading layer covers the sender-and-receiver model in more detail.

Social Trader Tools goes deep on the MetaTrader family and stops there [1]. That was the whole prop market a few years ago. It is not anymore. Firms now issue accounts on cTrader, TradeLocker, DXTrade, and MatchTrader, and futures firms run NinjaTrader, Rithmic, and DXFeed. If any of your funded accounts leave MetaTrader, a MetaTrader-only copier covers only part of your book. Trada maps symbols per receiver across broker naming conventions, so the same instrument copies correctly when two brokers label it differently. For coverage that already spans both sides, Traders Connect is the closer head-to-head.

One limit worth stating plainly: on MetaTrader 4, Trada connects as a receiver and for journaling, not as a copier source. If your master account is on MT4, it cannot originate copies. MT5, cTrader, TradeLocker, DXTrade, MatchTrader, NinjaTrader, Rithmic and DXFeed all work as sources.

Risk Controls

Social Trader Tools has one of the clearer protection features in this market. Its Equity Monitor watches an account and can respond at three escalation levels: send an email alert, send an alert and disable the copier, or send an alert, disable the copier, and close all open positions automatically [1].

Trada's protections work per receiver with two threshold horizons: Daily Loss or Profit, in percent or dollars, resetting at 00:00 UTC, and Overall Max Account Loss or Profit measured from the balance when the receiver was added. On trigger, all enabled actions fire together: Send Notification, Stop Copier, Flatten Account. Trada also ships prop-safe defaults, with Reverse Positions auto-disabled on prop-firm accounts, and logs every operation, success, failure, and protection trigger. Trada enforces the thresholds you configure; it does not interpret any firm's rules for you.

The honest read: both products can close positions automatically when equity rules break. Trada adds the daily horizon with a defined UTC reset and dollar or percent thresholds per receiver, which maps onto how funded-account loss rules are written. The prop firm compliance guide covers why that account-level distinction matters.

Journaling and Reporting

Social Trader Tools includes in-depth account analytics, trade breakdowns, profit trends, equity movement, trade history, and CSV export [1]. That is genuine reporting, and for a copier-first product it is well built.

Trada's journal is a different kind of object. Every closed trade auto-syncs from connected accounts and the execution data is read-only, so trades can never be typed in or edited. Annotation happens on top: strategies with checklists, star ratings, emotional state, rich-text notes, group journaling with bulk annotate, and daily, weekly, and monthly period journals. Cross-account reports include a Health Score from 0 to 100, an equal average of six published sub-scores: Max Account Loss, Profit Factor, Win Rate, Reward-to-Risk, Expectancy Quality, and Winning Days. Reports can be shared as a public read-only link. The reports and Health Score layer shows how the six sub-scores combine.

Social Trader Tools' rolling plans extend to 100 accounts today, and its prices include its analytics. Trada's tiers include the journal, reports, and risk actions on every paid plan. Duplikium prices per account rather than per slot, which changes the shape of the same calculation again.

Who Should Pick Which

Pick Social Trader Tools if your entire operation is MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5, you want a proven product you can start using today, or you run a signal business and need signal pages and whitelabeling.

Pick Trada, once it opens, if your funded accounts spread beyond MetaTrader into cTrader, TradeLocker, DXTrade, MatchTrader, or futures platforms, or if you want the journal and the copier to be the same system instead of a copier plus a separate journaling subscription. Trada is not generally available yet; joining the waitlist at trada.io is the current step. For a futures-first comparison, Tradesyncer sits at the other end of the coverage question.

Where Social Trader Tools Is Stronger

Social Trader Tools is live, mature, and operating at scale, with a claimed 200,000+ traders and a published 99.98 percent uptime figure [1]. It publishes a specific average replication figure, roughly 50 ms [1], which Trada does not; for most strategies, platform coverage decides which copier you can use long before execution speed does. Its Equity Monitor is proven in production. It supports a signal-provider business model with payment handling and whitelabel deployment, which Trada does not offer. And its rolling plans scale to 100 accounts today, above Trada's published Enterprise tier.
