Forex Copier 4 is Windows software you buy once, currently $199 on sale from $299, and run on your own PC or VPS to copy trades between MetaTrader 4, MetaTrader 5, and cTrader terminals on that machine. Trada is trade-copier and journaling infrastructure that runs in the cloud, covers nine platforms including futures, and adds automated risk actions and a read-only journal.
Forex Copier is available today. Trada is in early access, and the current step is joining the waitlist.
Quick Answer
Forex Copier fits traders whose accounts all live on MetaTrader or cTrader, who already run a Windows machine or VPS they trust, and who prefer paying once over subscribing. Trada fits traders whose funded accounts spread across platforms Forex Copier cannot reach, who do not want to keep a machine online through every session and reboot, or who want risk thresholds that can flatten an account and a journal built from the same connection.

Execution Model
The two products sit on opposite ends of the deployment question. Forex Copier 4 is designed for local copying, and its documentation states that all trading terminals should be run on the same PC or VPS [1]. You own the machine, the uptime, and the terminal maintenance. The vendor also sells Forex Copier Remote 2, a separate product for distributing signals to receivers on different machines, with paid plans sized by receiver count [2]. Its published pages do not list Remote 2 prices, so confirm those with the vendor before budgeting.
Trada removes the machine from the picture. MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 have no public API, so Trada runs them under Wine in Docker containers on Linux. Every other platform connects through native APIs in isolated instances, so a failure or rate-limit on one platform does not touch the others. Copying runs in real time over WebSocket, one master to N receivers, one market type per copier. The copy-trading layer covers the sender-and-receiver model in more detail.
A local copier has one honest advantage here: if your terminals and copier share one machine, the copy path never leaves it. The tradeoff is that the machine is yours to keep online through every session, update, and reboot. The piece on multi-account trading without a VPS covers that infrastructure question in full.

9 platforms · forex + futuresPlatform Support
Forex Copier works with any MetaTrader or cTrader broker, which covers a lot of the retail forex world [1]. It has no published support for the newer prop-firm platforms or for futures. If your accounts sit on TradeLocker, DXTrade, MatchTrader, or the futures side, a MetaTrader-family copier cannot reach them. Trada maps symbols per receiver across broker naming conventions, so the same instrument copies correctly when two brokers label it differently. Among cloud copiers, Duplikium draws its platform line in a different place again.
One limit worth stating plainly: on MetaTrader 4, Trada connects as a receiver and for journaling, not as a copier source. If your master account is on MT4, it cannot originate copies. MT5, cTrader, TradeLocker, DXTrade, MatchTrader, NinjaTrader, Rithmic and DXFeed all work as sources.
Risk Controls
Forex Copier 4 ships a substantial toolbox: lot and risk management, stop loss and take profit settings, price adjustments, order filtering, and an emergency stop. It can stop copying open orders if the source account's equity reaches a set level, or when a drawdown percentage hits a defined threshold [1]. It also offers a Reverse Mode that opens opposite orders on the receiver [2].
Trada's protections are set per receiver and act automatically. Thresholds are Daily Loss or Profit and Overall Max Account Loss or Profit, each in percent or dollars. When one trips, all enabled actions fire together: Send Notification, Stop Copier, Flatten Account. Flattening matters for funded accounts, since stopping the copier alone leaves open positions running into a breach. Reverse Positions is auto-disabled on prop-firm accounts by default, and every operation, success, failure, and protection trigger lands in the copier log. Trada enforces the thresholds you configure; it does not interpret any firm's rules for you.
Journaling and Reporting
Forex Copier advertises detailed statistics of copying [2]. That is operational reporting on the copier itself, and it is useful for verifying that copies executed. It is not a trade journal.
Trada auto-syncs every closed trade from connected accounts into a journal where execution data is read-only. Trades can never be typed in or edited. You annotate with strategies and checklists, star ratings, emotional state, and notes, keep daily, weekly, and monthly period journals, and get a Health Score from 0 to 100 averaged equally across six published sub-scores: Max Account Loss, Profit Factor, Win Rate, Reward-to-Risk, Expectancy Quality, and Winning Days. The trading journal is the part of Trada that removes the export step entirely.
Pricing
The pricing models are structurally different, so the comparison depends on your horizon.
Trada prices flat tiers by connected accounts and copy setups.
Annual billing works out to roughly two months free. A one-time $199 license beats any subscription on raw cost over a long horizon, but the full bill for local copying includes the Windows VPS most traders rent to keep terminals online around the clock, which is a recurring cost Forex Copier's license price does not show. Trada has no VPS in the stack at all. If a subscription is acceptable but MetaTrader is the whole book, Social Trader Tools is the other cloud option to price out.
Who Should Pick Which
Pick Forex Copier if your accounts all live on MetaTrader or cTrader, you already run a Windows machine or VPS you trust, and you prefer paying once over subscribing.
Pick Trada, once it opens, if your funded accounts spread across platforms Forex Copier cannot reach, you do not want to babysit a VPS, or you want risk thresholds that can flatten an account and a journal built from the same connection. Trada is not generally available yet; joining the waitlist at trada.io is the current step. For a futures-first alternative, Tradesyncer covers the other end of the platform question.
Where Forex Copier Is Stronger
Forex Copier is available today and has been sold for years. The one-time license is the cheapest long-run option in this comparison for a stable MetaTrader-only setup. The 30-day trial and unconditional 30-day money-back guarantee remove purchase risk in a way subscriptions do not. Local execution keeps the copy path on your own machine, which some traders prefer on principle. And its order-handling controls, including price adjustments, order splitting, and Wait For Better Price, are unusually fine-grained for MetaTrader work.
